The Creekside Site Council is an advisory committee for the school principal to foster communication and provide input on the optimal learning environment for our school. The Site Council consists of staff representatives, parent representatives and community representatives (including PTSA). To the extent possible, the parent representatives should, as a collective, represent students from a wide variety of grade levels, learning needs and personal backgrounds.
Typical areas of focus for our Site Council include:
Developing our School Community. Continue the development of our school as a place where families are embraced, supported and connected to the school, each other and the greater Creekside community.
Ensure School Safety. Further grow systems and practices that ensure school safety. School Safety includes social/emotional wellness as well as physical safety.
Shared Learning. Share our school improvement plan as well as our Learning Assistance Program (LAP) plan.

Level 2 Disaster Work Update
District Safety Committee worked with all the local city police and fire to create a common district-wide level 2 safety plan. These plans are called “Emergency Operations Plan” (EOP). Part of these plans includes an “Incident Command System Organizational Chart.” This organizational flow chart looks like this:
Creekside’s Staff took time in August to review these roles and this chart.
In September the staff looked over the “role descriptions” and signed up for the task that best meet their personal needs.
At the end of September, the staff members that are on Site Council reviewed the flow chart to add in staff that weren’t assigned at that time and to combine some of the tasks that had similar role descriptions.
Tera (principal), Andrea (principal’s secretary) and Eryn (school nurse) looked at our emergency prep list and organized it into priorities. The list includes the following:
Water pouches for students and staff (5 year shelf life)
Emergency bars for food (5 year shelf life)
Canopies (2 of them)
Large Canopy/Tent
Mylar Blankets
Color-coded vests for staff that coordinate with Incident Command roles
Triage Supplies (Tags, tape, tarps)

Yellow (not life threatening)
Red (life threatening)
Black (deceased)

Staff will be trained at our February 27th Professional Development meeting
